Kenya: IEBC Suspends Campaigns

OTHAYA The IEBC has put off all campaigns in Othaya following a Thursday ruling by the Supreme Court. The April 29 by-election was stopped until a case pending in court is heard and determined.

The case continues on Monday. Othaya IEBC returning officer James Mbai said yesterday the electoral body will not go against the court ruling. "Following the Supreme Court ruling, IEBC hereby informs all candidates and all chief campaigners to suspend all forms of campaigns in Othaya constituency forthwith," he said via SMS.
