Nigeria: Leadership Conference and Awards Postponed

The annual conference and awards ceremony by LEADERSHIP Conferences Limited a subsidiary of LEADERSHIP Group, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, has been postponed.

The postponement, according to a statement by the management, was as a result of recent security challenges in the country, especially in Abuja where the event is scheduled to hold.

"Many of our distinguished guests have expressed concern that the security challenges coinciding with the World Economic Forum would create serious logistic problems for a major event like the LEADERSHIP Conference and Awards," the statement said.

"We would be stretching the vigilance and comfort of our guests and sponsors by going ahead at this time."

The statement said the management regretted the inconveniences the postponement will cause, adding that a new date would be announced soon.

Former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, is the leading honoree with the with the prize of the Person of the Year 2013.
