Central African Republic: Ban Names U.S. Diplomat Wohlers As Deputy Head of New UN Central African Republic Mission

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today appointed Laurence D. Wohlers of the United States as Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-Genera for the newly-created United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCa).

Mr. Wohlers has extensive experience in international affairs, specializing in conflict management, governance and cross-cultural communication, and most recently, he served as the US Ambassador to the Central African Republic (CAR) from 2010 to 2013.
