Nigeria: Ecological Hazard Delays Completion of N14 Billion NAPTIN Power Institute

The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) has disclosed that the completion of the first phase of its N14 billion worth multipurpose training institute is beind delayed by the discovery of an ecological hazard at the project site allocated to the agency by the Federal Capital Development Administration (FCDA).

Director General of NAPTIN, Reuben Okeke stated in Abuja that the almost 10.4 hectares project site, which is situated at the Idu research and industrial zone was discovered to have served as a dump site for waste earth that were excavated by the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) while building a neighbouring sewage treatment plant in the past.
