Kenya: Nyandarua Roads Repair At Sh250 Million

The Nyandarua government has spent Sh250 million on the ongoing roads construction in 25 wards. Governor Daniel Waithaka said the money has been used to upgrade roads and open up others that have not been repaired for decades.

He was speaking during celebrations marking one year in office for Weru ward representative Kimani Moses at Kasuku market in Ol'joro Orok subcounty yesterday. Waithaka defended himself against accusations that his government has not done much in terms of development.

"Numerous development projects have been initiated for the benefit of our people," he said. The Governor said his administration will upgrade all the 222 dams in the region so as to supply water to rural homes, while many projects meant to revive agriculture have also been initiated.

He said he will continue championing tree-planting in the county to enable Nyandarua surpass the 10 per cent tree cover.
