Kenya: 'Uhuru Smokes Bhang' MCA in Kisii Court

30 April 2014

A Kisii County MCA has been hauled to court for saying that President Uhuru Kenyatta smokes marijuana. Kiogoro ward representative Samuel Onkwani, a laboratory technologist turned politician, was arrested on Sunday. The prosecution told court that Onkwani, 39, thereby undermined the authority of President Kenyatta. Onkwani, a father of five who graduated from Mombasa Polytechnic in 1996, is accused of making the statement on August 28, 2013 at Kerera village in Kerera.
