Nigeria: How Nigeria Can Overcome Security Challenges, By Pakistan Envoy

As the armed forces and security agencies intensify efforts at rescuing the over 200 kidnapped young girls from Chibok, Borno state, the Pakistan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lt. Gen. Muhammed Ashraf Saleem (rtd), said his country which coincidentally shares border similarities with Nigeria, was able to overcome the insecurity within its borders through combined political dialogue and local military arrangements. Pakistan, THISDAY learnt, has one of the longest borders with its neighbouring countries in Asia.

On how his country was able to curtail the insurgency around its expansive borders with neighbouring Afghanistan and India, just like Nigeria's borders with Cameroun and Niger Republic, he told THISDAY that this was through dialogue at political and local military arrangements. Details to follow
