President of Somalia's federal state of Puntland Abdiweli Mohamed Ali met with a ministerial delegation from the Somaliland region in Addis Ababa on the sidelines of the Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa, Somalia's RBC Radio reported Wednesday (April 30th).
The meeting comes amid heightened tensions between the two regions over border disputes. Somaliland's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Mohamed Bihi Yonis said they discussed the disputed border areas, such as Taleh, which security forces from the Somaliland region briefly seized two weeks ago.
