Liberia: Pro-Democracy Group On Media Head

The Manager and co-owner of the Sky Communications radio and television Mr. T. Max Jalateh has come under a heavy criticism by a little know pro democracy and human rights organization, the Progressive Alliance Movement, questioning the contents of Mr. Jalateh's program. The group in a release issued accused Mr. Jalateh of turning his network, particularly his radio talk show into an anti-government media house.

Mr. Jalateh, when contacted by this paper Thursday downplayed the group's accusation, while declining further comment. But the group in its statement said it is deeply appalled and stunned by a growing wave of anti government sentiments in the media with particular reference to the Sky Communications T. Max Jalateh, describing the senior media executive as a man dogged by many as a renegade broadcaster.
