Kenya: Fashion Brands Eye Nairobi Expo

Major international clothing brands are set to exhibit in a trade fair in Nairobi later this year as the textile industry looks to strike deals. Germany's world-famous men's clothing line Hugo Boss, UK's Marks and Spencer, Swedish H&M and American fashion house Calvin Klein are among 40 brands to exhibit at the Origin Africa expo in November.

Rajeev Arora, executive director of Africa Cotton and Textile Industry Federation, said the expo will give upcoming fashion designers exposure opportunity. "We shall give students from universities, fashion design colleges and upcoming designers a chance for incubation of their ideas with the hope that they can have a platform to network and develop markets for their products," Arora said.
