Gambia: Countdown to V-2016 Rice Self-Sufficiency Attainment - Gov't Provides D30 Million for Access Roads Construction

The government of The Gambia has signed a contract agreement with Gambian-based Green Impact Company at a tune of D30M to start the construction work of access roads and bridges to some of the identified agricultural fields in the context of the implementation of the "Vision 2016 Rice Self-Sufficiency Agenda", the minister of Agriculture, Solomon Owens has disclosed.

Briefing the accompanying press corps on tour with President Jammeh Wednesday in Kanilai, Minister Owens described this development as important to the objectives of the Gambian leader.
