Somalia: Politicians Call for Ban of Khat Imports From Kenya

Politicians that participated in Shabelle's Friday debate, urged the Somali government and community to stop khat imports from Kenya.

A former legislator, Ali Mohamud Farah said that due to the Kenayan government mistreatment of Somalis in Nairobi, khat or miraa imports from Kenya to Somalia completely

Furthermore, another politician Dr. Shir Waco said, "The truth is that many of our ethnic citizens in Kenya are suffering due to mistreatment by the Kenyan government, therefore we should retaliate by imposing a ban on the imports."
