Senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN) has thrown his weight behind Senate President David Mark's call for a full military action to rescue the 234 abducted female students of Government College, Chibok in Borno State.

He spoke in a statement issued in Abuja yesterday.

The lawmaker noted that dialogue cannot work with a set of people who are bent on wreaking havoc and destruction on the country.

"I fully support Senate President David Mark when he rightly observed that Nigeria is now in a state of war with the nefarious activities of these insurgents and that only a full military action can rescue these girls.

"As a parent, I fully understand the anguish parents of these girls are going through; not to talk of the trauma these girls have been subjected to. This is the time for a decisive military action so that we can take back our country from these insurgents. God forbid; they will never overcome us."

The senate leader also called on the border communities where the Boko Haram sect operate to "Fully cooperate with our security agencies so that we can stem the tide of this insurgency in our country."
