Snuggling in between jutted hillocks, Kiri Dam has an electrifying atmosphere, an enchanting scenery and awesome tales of hippopotamus popping up on the surface of the serene light blue water at sunset and galumphing to the lush green bank to look for food is simply irresistable.
"There are a lot of hippopotami here. On the one hand it is a delight to watch them come out of the water at twilight and trudge to the river banks in search of food. But on the other hand, farmers, especially upstream of the dam complain that the hippos destroy their farms at night," a local chief told our reporter.
