Nigeria: How Mopol Officer Abducted Eight-Year Old Girl

Lagos — Rage and anger best describe the mood of residents of Ikosi in Ketu area of Lagos on Thurdsay of last week. The residents' anger is understandable. A Mobile Police Officer serving at MOPOL 22 Unit in Ikeja, Lagos was discovered to have abducted an 8-year-old allegedly for ritual purposes. The police officer, who police authorities identified as Gbuchenge Augustine with Force No: 400823 is presently on the run. According to media reports, the kidnapped girl was discovered under Augustine's bed in his one room apartment, located at No. 1 Olufowobi Street Ikosi Ketu, Lagos, her mouth, legs and hands bound with ropes.

Witnesses further said that the girl who was recovered very weak and motionless with a broken skull and twisted neck was unable to speak.
