Mogadishu — Over hundred lawmakers in Federal Parliament of Somalia have held a meeting in Mogadishu, calling on President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to resign over ineffectiveness on Monday, Garowe Online reports.
The Federal MPs accused President Mohamud of bad leadership and failing national plans including security matters and the issue of federalization. They said, if the President don't comply with the parliament demand they will impeach him through legal means.
"Al Shabaab is capable of launching deadly attacks on key structures, planned assassinations are proliferating at an alarming rate and federalims is on the verge of collapse," said Federal MP. On 14th of April, 40 lawmakers reportedly filled a no-confidence motion against the country's head of state.
Large scale theft of government funds dealt blow to the ties between President Mohamud and International donors but his administration could hardly wean off their financial support.
