Namibia: Unam Maltas Club's Cancer Run Huge Success

Windhoek — An overwhelming number of young and older people took part into the school painting project at the Suiderlig High School and a cancer run organised by the University of Namibia (Unam) Maltas Club, Wimpy and Nampower recently in Keetmanshoop.

The run was incorporated into the Nampower Maltas School Painting Project. The aim of the run was to create awareness on cancer, and educate the communities about the various cancers such as lung, prostate, skin, breast and ovarian cancers. Present at this event was Hansie Peens from Nmapower, who noted the importance of engaging young people in the development of this country as they are the leaders of tomorrow. The students of the Unam Southern Campus also received a formal lecture on leadership from the Maltas Secretary General, Malake Mwezi. All these students were required to pitch a presentation on entrepreneurship and why it is a viable option for the Namibian youth. A young girl from Ondangwa, Ester ???, won the hearts of the audience and will host the Unam International Food Extravaganza on May 21 at the Main Campus.
