Kenyans Want Pay Cuts to Public Service, Salaries Commission Survey Says

A majority of Kenyans surveyed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) are in favour of pay cuts to public servants in order to curb the country's increasing wage bill, Kenya's Daily Nation reported Wednesday (May 7th).

The nation-wide survey also indicated that Kenyans want the elimination of allowances for government employees and prefer that they be paid a flat monthly salary, SRC chairwoman Sarah Serem said while announcing the findings in Nairobi.
