The Somali National Army (SNA) backed by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops fought off an assault by al-Shabaab in Bulo Burde, killing four militants, Radio Bar-Kulan reported Tuesday (May 6th).
SNA commander in Bulo Burde Abdullahi Barre said seven other militants were injured in the clashes and are receiving treatment in Buqda-Aqable. AMISOM increased its presence in Bulo Burde last month after an al-Shabaab attack on area residents in March.
