Nigeria: NCAA vs CPC - Unnecessary Bickering - Stakeholders

Lagos — The Federal Government may, through the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, have to step into the raging war between two of its agencies- the Consumer Protection Council or the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), over whose job it is to sanction Aero Contractors, the nation's oldest airline, for abandoning 39 passengers on one of its flight at the airport for 15 hours between 6pm on November 8, 2013, and 9am the following day without taking any remedial action.

While the CPC, established by Act No. 66 of1992, and supervised by the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, has since ordered Aero to make amends in line with the Passenger Bill of Rights (PBR) fashioned by the NCAA, the company may have rebuffed the move, perhaps prodded officially or otherwise by the aviation regulator.
