Nigeria: Group Advocates Shift of Power to Southern Plateau

Jos — A political group, Plateau South Democracy Watch, has called on the people of the state to support the agitation for Southern Senatorial District to produce the next governor of the state.

A statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Jos and signed by the group's national secretary, Nanya Dombin, said that the agitation by some individuals and interest groups that the rotation of the governorship seat of Plateau State should begin from another senatorial district of the state other than the South is not only in bad faith, but repugnant and unacceptable, because Plateau south would have to wait for 31 years to demand for the seat again".
