Egypt: Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Police Officer in Sharqia

Sharqia — Unknown gunmen kidnapped on Sunday a police officer after shooting at his car in Sharqia, north of Cairo, a security source told Aswat Masriya.

Mohamed Haroon was on his way to visit his family when masked men blocked the road and attacked his car. They took him to an undisclosed location and left his car.

The security source has not confirmed whether this incident is criminal or political, but he said that police forces launched a security campaign and announced a state of emergency.
