The current visit to Africa by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang signifies a new chapter of China-Africa cooperation 50 years after Premier Zhou Enlai opened up relations with the continent. Africa has been cooperating and enjoying cordial relations and friendship with China since then.
In a speech at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Premier Li announced China's plan to strengthen its cooperation with Africa in six areas -- industry, finance, poverty reduction, ecological protection and people-to-people exchanges, and peace and security building.
