KITALE chief finance officer Richard Nyongesa was on Friday taken for questioning by CID officers over allegations of conspiring with junior officers to defraud the county of its revenue.
This comes barely two days after land rates officer Paul Shamalla and KRA agent William Wafula were charged in court with conspiracy and fraud. Nyongesa was deployed by the Transition Authority to the county. Nyongesa, who is being held at Kitale police station is accused of waiving rates illegally and diverting county revenue to his private accounts.
