Angola: Moto-Taxis Deemed Main Causers of Accidents in Cuanza Norte

Ndalatando — Moto-taxi drivers are being mentioned by the police in the northern Cuanza Norte province as being responsible for many accidents in the urban zones of the region, due to the fact that they insist on driving without knowing the basic rules outlined in the Traffic Code.

Quarterly data from the Provincial Police Command state that from January to March of the current year, twenty moto-taxi drivers passed away and 110 were wounded in consequence of 103 road accidents.

Accidents involving motorcycles, state the note, caused material damages estimated at 4.117 million kwanzas.

In the same period, the police seized 679 motocycles, whose drivers were not able to provide the required documentation.
