Somalia: Information Minister Highlights Gov't Progress On 4th Month in Office

Speaking at a press conference in Mogadishu on Saturday morning, the Minister of Information for the Somali Federal Government highlighted the progress and advancement the government has made since January 2014.

Mustaf Sheikh Ali, the Information Minister, emphasized that the government has taken effective steps and actions to improve the security conditions in Mogadishu and other parts of the country.

Furthermore, Mr. Ali strained that new commissioners and governors have been appointed for districts and regions liberated from the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab terrorist group by the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and Somali National Army. The Minister drew attention to the fact that the 2016 democratic elections are getting closer and that various tasks lie before the government in order to implement Vision 2016.

"The government has prepared emergency aid including humanitarian supplies to be transported to territories and towns that have been seized from the terrorist insurgents." He said
