Eritrea: Youth Workers in Central Region Finalize Preparations in Connection With Independence Day Anniversary

Asmara — Youth worker members of the NUEYS in the Central region have finalized preparations in connection with Independence Day anniversary which have been underway since 24 April.

Speaking at the meeting conducted thereof, Mr. Samson Kifle, Head of the Union's branch in the region, noted the major role of youths as regards celebrating the momentous Day, and indicated that the ongoing activities are vital in revealing the competence as well as potential of youths. He also lauded all those who made input in organizing the program.

Likewise, Mr. Girmai Haile, Head of workers' organization in the Union's branch in the Central region, said that marking the Day calls for higher youth participation, and disclosed that the preparations pertain to general knowledge, literary, oratory, sports and drama contests, as well as presentation of research papers.

The contestants stated that such activities are of vital importance as regards portraying the heaviness of the sacrifices paid for the nation's independence and movement of Eritrean youth in the past as well as the future, among others.

Youths who won in the contests received awards at the meeting.
