Kenya: Obado Calls for Innovation and Invention to Achieve Vision 2030

MIGORI Governor Okoth Obado has told education institutions to encourage innovation and invention towards attaining vision 2030.

Obado said scientists should work with high schools and colleges to help nurture students in the sector of science, technology and engineering.

"Most innovations incubated in labs and science congress never see day light as they lack backing on investors," he said.

He challenged the education sector to come out strongly by linking leading inventions by students with potential investors at national level to help in alleviating poverty in the country.

He said he will help roll out a scheme to equip best schools in Migori county with engineering boards to help in innovation.

Obado was addressing students and teachers on Thursday during the official opening of the high school Science Congress in the Lake Region at Nyabohanse Girls Secondary School in Kuria West.

The governor said he will support the best schools from Migori that will proceed to the national level top be carried out in Nairobni9i.
