Ghana: Anglogold Security Strips Worker Half Naked

Takoradi — The Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has begun investigation into the circumstances under which a Stone Age punishment was meted out to a 27 year old security man, Eugene Newton Nyarko, who is working with a security company employed by AngloGold Ashanti Iduaprime mine in the Western Region.

Eugene Newton Nyarko was stripped half naked by his employers, G4S Security Service for absenting himself from work for two days without permission. The Assembly Member for Tarkwa Tebrebe electoral area, Mr. Samuel Cudjoe, confirmed to The Chronicle that CHRAJ was investigating the case and that he personally led the victim to report the incident to the ombudsman who has also invited the security company to write its statement.
