A Kaduna Chief Magistrate Court on Tuesday revoked the bail of Lamido Abdullahi, standing trial for alleged homosexual act with an army officer, because of conflicting evidence of the surety's address.
The Chief Magistrate, Bashir Shittu, who revoked the address, said the surety's business address and drivers' licence identity card addresses did not correspond.
"With this, the court may have problem of tracing the accused if he jumps bail," he said.
Mr. Shittu ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody until he presents another reliable surety and adjourned the matter till June 11.
Mr. Abdullahi, 46, who resides at Angwar Maijero Area of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, allegedly lured an army officer as his homosexual partner on Badoo social media network.
The accused was earlier granted bail with the sum of N100, 000 with a surety in like sum, but failed to meet his bail conditions.
The First Information Report stated that the accused was charged with attempt to commit an offence contrary to Sections 95 and 284 of the Penal Code.
Prosecutor Sani Umar told the court that the accused was apprehended by Dike Uche of 1 Division Garrison, Nigeria Army Kaduna on Feb 8.
Mr. Umar said the accused became friend with Uche on Badoo social media network with the intention of becoming his homosexual partner in Kaduna.
He said that during one of their chats, the accused invited him to the barracks for clarifications and he came.
The prosecutor said the accused was apprehended in Dalet Barrack Kaduna, when he was about to penetrate Uche through his anus.
