Cameroon: Limbe City Council Office Burgled

In the night of 15 breaking 16 May, 2014, persons of the underworld made their way into the Limbe City Council office and attacked with surgical precision all key offices. Two Council police on guard that night were tied up during the burglary. Eye witnesses who rushed to the scene Friday morning before 7 am said that the three-layer main safe of the chief cashier of the City Council was chiseled out with sophisticated equipment. It is not yet publicly established how much money was stolen in the attack. The City Council Credit Union office situated next to the cashier's office was equally burgled.

The Government Delegate's Office was penetrated and ransacked likewise the Secretary General's office. No one has yet been caught in connection with the incident. At press time, no official statement had been made about the incident by any authority of Limbe City Council but Police investigations were afoot to apportion responsibilities.
