Africa: Samsung Pledges to Train 10,000 Engineers in Africa By 2015

Samsung Electronics on Wednesday pledged to train 10,000 electronics engineers across Africa by 2015 in its 'Samsung Engineering Academy'. Mr Brovo Kim, the Managing Director, Samsung Electronics, West Africa, disclosed this in Lagos at the graduation of the academy's first set of 72 technical students.

He said that the academy was a part of the Global Samsung Hope for Children Outreach programme, which offered one year, free training courses for beneficiaries. Kim said that the outreach programme was aimed at improving the quality of technical education in public secondary schools across Africa.
