Nigeria: 'Date Palm Farming Dates Back 400 Years in Jigawa'

Dutse — Jigawa State is Nigeria's famous date(dabino) farming centre. The business of selling dates which is common in the state, especially along the Dutse -Maiduguri junction in Shuwarin and Fanisau areas of the state capital, is said be more than 400 years old.

This was disclosed to Daily Trust by the Village Head of Anguwan Kuka, Alhaji Muhammadu Mai Anguwan Gidan Kuka,a village known for date farming in Jigawa.
