Tanzania: Billions Availed for Local Research Activities

LOCAL researchers are to benefit from a 10bn/- grant by writing projects aimed at solving problems that the public confronts. This follows the signing in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday by Tanzania and Denmark of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the 10bn/- grant to support local researchers through Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH).

The initiative for the first time targets Tanzanian researchers to apply for grants from the fund through proposals that aim at solving problems facing local communities and find solutionsfor them. Speaking at the signing ceremony in Dar es Salaam , Danish Head of Mission/Cooperation, Steen Sonne Andersen, said local researchers would only get technical assistance from their counterparts in his country.
