Somalia: Al-Shabaab Block Access to Some Towns

The movement of the Al-Shabaab Islamist militants is causing difficulties to allow passage to people and vehicles to some districts in south Somalia.

According to news reports from Garbaharey in the Gedo region and Hudur of Bakool region, Al-Shabaab insurgents have blocked aid trucks and vehicles from entering the towns.

The difficulties in those towns are reporting to be causing humanitarian problems and crisises for the residents in Hudur and Garbaharey.

Furthermore, the Ethiopian soldiers in Hudur are reported to be exercising their military in the town, and have started search operations.
