Zimbabwe: President in SA for Inauguration

Takunda Maodza — PRESIDENT Mugabe arrived here yesterday for President Jacob Zuma's inauguration that has drawn 37 other leaders. President Zuma will be sworn-in for a second term at the Nelson Mandela Amphitheatre at Union Buildings here today. This follows his re-election as President by Members of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

The Democratic Alliance had objected to President Zuma's nomination, but Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng dismissed it with costs.

Reports indicate 37 Heads of State and Government and four former leaders are expected to attend the ceremony.

The ANC won the country's fifth democratic elections since 1994 on May 7 by 62,15 percent of the vote.

The DA came second with 22,23 percent, followed by Mr Julius Malema's Economic Freedom Fighters with 6,35 percent.

President Mugabe is accompanied by First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe and Cdes Simon Khaya Moyo and Didymus Mutasa.

VP Mujuru is Acting President.
