Egypt: Mansour Presides Over Meeting to Discuss Libyan Conditions, Election Preparations

Interim President Adly Mansour presided on Thursday over a meeting to discuss the latest developments in Libya and preparations for the 26-27 May presidential elections.

The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and the ministers of defense, interior, foreign affairs, transport and information and the heads of the public and military intelligence agencies, covered implications of the situation in Libya on Egypt and ways to secure Egypt's western borders, presidential spokesman Ihab Badawi said.

An agreement was reached on setting up an operations room to follow closely the unfolding events in Libya to deal with their repercussions on Egypt.

Badawi added that the meeting also touched on ways to secure the elections and to provide the appropriate conditions for securing the voting process.
