Egypt: PEC - Violations of Electoral Silence to Be Referred to Prosecution

Presidential Elections Committee (PEC) under Counselor Anwar Rashad Al-Asy said that it would apply the law firmly on any presidential candidate who violates the electoral silence which started Saturday.

The two-day electoral silence bars any form of campaigning by candidates or their supporters during the two days before the polls.

PEC Secretary General Counselor Abdel-Aziz Salman warned against hanging any posters for the candidates inside or outside polling stations.
