A recent opinion poll, which found that President Museveni was still popular, has been embraced by NRM but dismissed by opposition leaders. The poll conducted by Research World International (RWI), among other things found that 54per cent of the respondents were willing to re-elect Museveni if he stood for election in 2016.
Also, a significant number of respondents believed Museveni's government had performed well in the sectors of health and education. During debate on the poll's findings at the WBS TV auditorium on Monday, Butambala MP Muwanga Kivumbi (DP) said the poll does not tell the entire story.
