Western Sahara: Saharawi Political Prisoner Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Agadir — The Saharawi political prisoner Alhaiba Moulay Gais unfairly sentenced Monday by the Moroccan Court of Appeal in the city of Agadir to five years in prison, said Saharawi rights sources.

The judgment against Alhaiba is the harshest one in a series of sentences pronounced against a group of Saharawi political prisoners, arrested in Guleimim after their participation in demonstrations in protest to the assassination of Rachid Chain in September 2013.
