Nigeria: I Can Never Compromise on Moral Issues - Kaka

Senator Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka, like him or hate him, is a blunt but humane rare-breed Nigerian politician. ASK, as he is fondly called, was the deputy governor of Ogun State between 1999 and 2003, and he is currently representing Ogun East Senatorial District in the upper legislative chamber. Kaka, the deputy chairman of Senate Committee on Agriculture, last week, organised a five-day free healthcare program for his constituents. Over 5000 persons benefitted from it. Senior Reporter, ANTHONIA SOYINGBE, who was at his home last weekend, asked him questions on his life. Excerpts

The just concluded health program you organised for your constituents was well attended; can you give us a rough estimate of those who benefitted from this program and is this your way of kick-starting your re-election?
