Angola: Cunene - Santa Clara Customs Collects Over Akz 6.0 Billion

Santa Clara — Over Akz 6.0 billion (Usd 60.000000) were collected for the State's coffers from January to May this year by the Santa Clara Customs, in southern Cunene province.

The information was released to Angop on Friday by the head of Santa Clara Customs , Anlide Muvuma Lufungula, who added that comparing to the same period in the previous year, there has been an increase of over Akz 443.9 million.

According to the official, the amount is the result of various taxes and fees paid at various counters of the Customs in Santa Clara, Calueque and Ruacana.

The source stated that the tax was mainly paid on consumption of imported beer and alcoholic beverage and miscellaneous fees.

Anlide Lufungula said that there has been a considerable reduction of tax evasion, due to the surveillance system coordinated by the local Customs Directorate, in cooperation with the Fiscal, Economic and Border Police.
