Nigeria: NAICOM Urges Insurers to Use IT, Phone to Sell Insurance

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has enjoined insurance operators to deploy information technology and telephone to sell insurance, for increased level of penetration, while reducing the cost of doing business.

Commissioner for Insurance, Fola Daniel, who gave this charge on the sidelines of 41st annual conference of the African Insurance Organisation (AIO) in Kigali, Rwanda, informed that the insurance industry in Ghana has used this method to increase the sector's contribution to the nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) within few years.
