United Kingdom-listed Afren Plc has stated that the drilling rig for its Oil Mining Lease (OML) 26 will arrive in Nigeria this month of June to drill two production wells and one water injector well in the second half of the year. Afren also reported first-quarter net production of 35,465 barrels of oil equivalent per day (bopd), about 4,500bopd lower than its 2014 overall production target of 40,000 bopd.
The company, which has its main assets in Nigeria and also operates in Kenya and Kurdistan, however noted that the first quarter 2014 net production at 35,465 bopd, was in line with expectations.
