Gambia: GTTI Training On Waste Management & Entrepreneurship Skills Ends

The Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) on Tuesday ended a six-week training on waste management and basic entrepreneurship skills at the GTTI. GTTI, on behalf of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment conducted the training, sponsored by the Spanish Migration Fund, in collaboration with the Government of The Gambia.

Speaking at the ceremony, the director general of GTTI, Mrs. Jahou S. Faal stated that "it is a great pleasure and honour to be in the midst, as major stakeholders in the future development of the youth." The occasion, she said, marks yet another milestone in the collaboration between the government of The Gambia and that of the Kingdom of Spain, to provide a productive source of livelihood rather than venturing into life- threatening endeavours, using the back way to Europe. "The so-called greener pasture young people yearned for in Europe is right here at the doorsteps, as exemplified by the graduation of these young people today," she said.
