Nigeria: Tribunal Upholds Obiano's Election

Onitsha — The Anambra State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Awka, on Wednesday, upheld the election of Governor Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), affirming that he duly participated and clearly won the November 16 governorship election in the state.

The tribunal dismissed all the four petitions filed by Chike Obidigbo of APGA, Chris Ngige of theAll Progressives Congress (APC) and Tony Nwoye of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and PDP, challenging the election of Obiano on the grounds of non-qualification and substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act in the conduct of the governorship election.
