Gambia, EU to Commence €2.6 Million Project

The government of The Gambia and the European Union (EU) Wednesday announced that a 2.6 million Euro Technical Assistance service will start on June 30th 2014 for a 30-month duration.

The full text of the press release sent to this paper reads: "The European Union is providing 4.5 Million Euros to improve access to justice and legal education for The Gambia's population within the framework of the 10th EDF National Indicative Programme (NIP). In this context, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance & Economic Affairs and National Authorising Officer (NAO) of the EDF, Mr. Abdoulie Jallow and the EU charge d'affaires, Ms. Agnes Guillaud wish to announce that a 2.6 Million Euros Technical Assistance service will start on June 30th 2014 for 30-month duration. This project is part of the overall framework for the cooperation of the EU with The Gambia to promote poverty eradication in the context of sustainable development."
