Gambia: Foreign Minister Wins GUSI Peace Prize

The Gambia's Foreign Affairs minister, Dr. Aboubacarr Abdullah Senghore has won the GUSI Peace Prize 2013 in recognition of what the award committee described as his "untiring efforts, working for people's amelioration, to find peaceful solutions for people's welfare through advocacy in international human rights" amongst others, the Presidency has announced.

A press release sent to this paper indicated that the GUSI Peace Prize Philippines and International Committees said Dr. Senghore is among two other renowned African academics from Senegal and South Africa who have received similar awards.
