Nigeria: Okojie Shuns Reps Over Probe of Scholarship Lopsidedness

Abuja — Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Julius Okojie, on Thursday, shunned a rescheduled meeting with the House of Representatives Committee on Education over the alleged lopsidedness in the Presidential Special Scholarship on Innovations.

Briefing newsmen after it was obvious that Okojie and his team would not attend the meeting, Chairman of the Committee, Aminu Sulieman, who said his panel would give them a benefit of doubt, however, disclosed that no communication was received with regard to their inability to be at the meeting. The team has, however, been summoned to appear before the committee on June 24, 2014 by 2pm.
