Zambia: ECZ Sets August 19 for Mangango By-Election

The Electoral Commission of Zambia has set August, 19 as the date for the Mangango parliamentary by-election following the nullification of the seat for PF aligned incumbent Robert Chiseke.

The ECZ has also announced that there will be 20 local government by-elections on the same date across five provinces.

Chiseke, who was saving as Commerce Deputy Minister, lost his seat after losing Patriotic Front candidate Richard Simbula successfully petitioned the seat.

The PF has petitioned over 50 seats belonging to the opposition with the MMD being the hardest hit.
